When Amelia, fresh out college, lands a job with the rich and attractive Grant Palmer, she had no idea what she was getting herself into.
Grant Palmer, enticed by his new personal assistant, attempts to solely focus on the evil at play – the recent increase of missing young women. But, when he realizes that his feelings are a bit more than what he expected, can he control himself? Will he be able to find the criminal at the same time?
Without a doubt, I simply enjoyed this read. The characters, both the main ones and the supporting ones were likable (except the ‘villain’ of the story, of course), the plot was well thought-out, and the author’s writing style flowed very nicely.
Due to this being a vampire-based book, there were some similarities in the traits we typically see in vampire reads/movies. However, Ms. Lawson was able to put her own say when coming up with the storyline itself. I loved how she cleverly had Amelia and Grant attracted to each other, but not necessarily ‘fall in love’ right away. This relationship was slow-building, and the talk about trust and honestly came up often.
Overall, I thought this was a great break from reading some books that I have not enjoyed as much, and really was able to sit back and relax.
