As I plan out some of my reading this month, a few books stick in my mind that I want to make sure to read. Here are my top three:
Wonder by R.J. Palacio
August was born with a facial deformity that has caused much stress and frustration throughout his life. Due to many harrowing operations, he has been home-schooled by his mom. However, he is now about to start public school. Will the other students be accepting? Will he be able to make friends despite his appearance?
This will be a re-read for me and I am excited to do so! I’ve read this story with my previous students and they’ve absolutely enjoyed every minute, just like me!
Can’t wait for the movie adaption comes out. I will most definitely go and see the film!
Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham
For years, I have enjoyed watching and re-watching Gilmore Girls. It has been a show that has stuck with me and don’t think I will tire from. Though I wasn’t a big fan of the new season of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, I know that if it was to be continued that I would watch the show.
Nonetheless, I learned that Lauren Graham (Lorelai Gilmore) has written a memoir. I became very excited and decided to add it to TBR list. It is said to include some diary entries while she was working on Gilmore Girls!
Can’t wait to get started!
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
As some of you may have guessed I’m a big Harry Potter fan. The series is the reason why I love reading. I have decided to give the Harry Potter books another read through. I mean, can you really get enough of this series?
I’m attempting to read one book per month. It’s just a fun re-read and really puts a smile to my face.
This third installment focuses on Harry’s third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This year, the criminal Sirius Black is loose and the wizarding community need to be extra cautious since Sirius is said to be a You-Know-Who supporter. This affects Harry in ways that he would never have imagined.
There are definitely other books that I will be reading, but these are the ones that I am really looking forward to exploring!
