The review below is a shorter alternate version of my OBC one. If you’re curious, you can find my OBC review here: Farmer Beau’s Farm
Farmer Beau and his wife, Bamma, discover six little kittens. Though they would have loved to have kept all six, only one stayed while the others ventured out.
They named their new pet, Kailey Kitten. This playful cat meets Samantha Bunny and a quick friendship forms. The two furry animals do everything together and life is great.
However, when a new animal arrives, they are reluctant to accept the strange new creature. Will the two friends learn to accept a new member of their household?
This picture book is adorable and a joy to read! It has cute, fun, and appealing illustrations that I’m sure children would enjoy. The characters are likable and, though they are mainly animals, they are relatable. In real life, sometimes we build fast friendships, and sometimes we are reluctant to accept someone new.
To name a few themes, we see here accepting someone new, to not judge someone from just their outward appearance, and bullying. All of which are woven into the story smoothly. All of these themes are ones that everyone could benefit from, so what better to discuss these aspects of life to young children with a fun picture book?
Overall, I enjoyed this read, especially with its message to children.
