I’m going to do something a bit different for certain reviews. Since I am an official reviewer at OnlineBookClub, I tend to complete several reviews on their site. However, one of the rules is that I’m not allowed to copy and paste my exact review anywhere else online. Therefore, I end up re-writing a new review when I post here, and it becomes tedious and a bit of a pain to write two different reviews of the same book and my feelings/thoughts haven’t changed.
Instead, I’ll post mini-reviews of those particular books on this site. This way, I can still share what I’m reading and my thoughts, but not get weighed down on the pressure of writing two full-length reviews of the same book.
So, here’s my first one!
This book has been officially reviewed for OnlineBookClub. To read my full review, you can go here: Never Fear the Reaper
Genre: Young Adult/Paranormal
Rating: out of 5
OBC Rating: 2 out of 4 stars
Themes: Honesty, Trust, Good vs. Evil
~ The Good ~
- Strong female lead
- Paranormal activity is captivating
~ The Not-So Good ~
- Character perspective was not consistent
- Male lead was unlikable at times and pretty bland
- Needed more editing
- The romance seemed forced and unrealistic (in turn, teaches young girls to have sex with their boyfriends after a couple of dates)
~ Recommendation? ~
Not to any of my friends, but maybe teenagers might enjoy most of the book.
