Right now, there are two books that I have started and aim to finish by the end of this month. Then, there’s another book that I want to give a try.
1) Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body by Roxane Gay: I’ve joined Emma Watson’s Goodreads group, Our Shared Shelf. This book is the one they are reading for the Sept/Oct discussion. I started it, and I am so impressed of how much the author has shared of her experiences. Looking forward in finishing this one this month!
2) The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood: I will admit that the reason I heard of this book is because the show adaptation with Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore) as a supporting role and was drawn to look up more information. When I did, boy did it catch my attention! I’m about a third of the way in and loving it so far. As a side note, this was also featured in Our Shared Shelf group. 🙂
3) It by Stephen King: Okay…this one. I had tried reading this one back when I was in high school/college years and didn’t make it very far. As some of you might know my love for reading came around middle school, so I wasn’t used to exploring the scarier side in books. I gave up on this one pretty quickly. However, since on OnlineBookClub, the genre of the month is Crime/Mystery/Thriller/Horror, I thought being older (and hopefully a bit less scared) that I would have the courage to give It a full read…oh boy. Wish me luck!
Here’s to another great month of reading!
