Attending the Reindeer Flying Academy, Ronaldo’s dream is to get his flying license and be just like his hero, Vixen. Therefore, he is extremely focused one thing – The Endurance Challenge!
Will he be able to reach his goal? How far can he fly in freezing temperatures?
Another sweet and fun book from Maxine Sylvester! This is the second book that I have read of hers, but first in the series. The writing and story telling is consistent and I just can’t get over how impressed I am that the author wrote and illustrated the story!
The illustrations are welcoming and well done. There are accurate facial expressions and body language throughout and each illustration is simply sweet and endearing. What I really liked about this book was the balance between the amount of pictures and story telling making it a great read for older children.
Both the characters and plot structure were logically created and came together to build a lovely and fun tale. Each character is likable and have their own quirkiness. Rudi, Ronaldo’s friend is a fun addition while Ronaldo’s family is so caring and silly. There isn’t a huge conflict here, just a reindeer who wants to do well with his flying, but I loved how tame the conflict was. Though it’s about a reindeer and flying, children (and adults) can definitely relate to the desire of accomplishing a goal.
Overall, I absolutely loved this and found myself smiling throughout. If I had children, I would absolutely share this with them!

I loved this book as well, and I am a 40 something big kid xx 🙂
