Harry Potter: A Journey Through A History of MagicThis mix of fantasy and nonfiction content is focused on the work put forth in the Harry Potter seriesI was able to buy this copy at the British Library at the Harry Potter: A Journey Through a History of Magic exhibit back in October 2017.

What I Loved:

– copies of J.K. Rowling’s original draft of Harry Potter
– beautiful illustrations from Jim Kay and sweet drawings from J.K. Rowling
– “magical” experiments parents can do with their children
– scenes that never made it to the final publishing of Harry Potter

Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane: A children’s fantasy by The Hunger Games author, where the reader is taken to an underground world filled with gigantic bats, huge cockroaches, and pale-skinned people with violet eyes – and these are not even the antagonists of the series!Book Cover

What I Loved:

– likable characters
– simple, yet exciting storyline
– sweet and loving sibling love

The Great AloneA historical/realistic fiction that follows the Allbright family as they move and try to settle in the Great Alone – Alaska. However, with Leni’s father’s PTSD, plans aren’t going the way they planned.
