Ciao everyone! I’ve been recently tagged by Rebecca @For the Love of Fiction to complete the Netflix Book Tag. Some of these categories are so much fun, and I’m happy to have been thought of, so thank you Rebecca! If you haven’t checked out Rebecca’s site, please do for some cool content!
RECENTLY WATCHED: THE LAST BOOK YOU FINISHED READING
I am happy to say that the last book I read was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. This is only the second book I’ve read from Moriarty, but I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to check out more of her work.
TOP PICKS: A BOOK THAT HAS BEEN RECOMMENDED TO YOU BASED ON BOOKS YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY READ
Thinking in Pictures by Temple Grandin was recommended to me by a friend since I enjoy reading more about autism, and I used to teach children with autism.
RECENTLY ADDED: THE LAST BOOK YOU BOUGHT
I bought the trilogy a few weeks ago, but haven’t got around to reading it yet. I’ve heard so many good things about the series and can’t wait to start!
POPULAR ON NETFLIX: BOOKS THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT. (2 YOU’VE READ AND 2 YOU HAVEN’T READ OR HAVE NO INTEREST IN READING.)
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood are two books that are fairly well known that I’ve read. A Game of Thrones was awesome! I believe I read it three times now. The Handmaid’s Tale ended up less exciting than I expected. There were too many questions left unanswered, especially toward the end.
This may sound weird, but I read about half of Red Rising, and I just couldn’t continue. I think there might have been too much action and not enough character development for me. It’s too bad since my hubby actually read the first two and is currently making his way through the third one. We could’ve had so many cool book discussions!
The Circle is one of those books that I didn’t get to read before watching the movie. I was so disappointed with the movie that I just can’t see myself wanting to read this one.
COMEDIES: A FUNNY BOOK
Though this is a non-fiction book, I found myself laughing multiple times while I read it!
DRAMAS: A CHARACTER WHO IS A DRAMA QUEEN/KING
One Last Lie by Rob Kaufman was a book I picked up due to a reviewer program. It focuses on a gay couple who want to have a baby. Enlisting a “friend”, the two become very excited. The problem is that the “friend” is very much a drama queen…so much so there is an eventual crime scene takes place toward the end.
ANIMATED: A BOOK WITH CARTOONS ON THE COVER
Bob by Wendy Mass & Rebecca Stead is a more of an illustrated cover versus a typical cartoon-based one, but I love it so I’m including it here.
WATCH IT AGAIN: A BOOK OR SERIES THAT YOU WANT TO RE-READ
Need I say more? Harry Potter will forever be my re-read series. It will always hold a dear place in my heart since Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling is the reason I love reading. Before reading this book in middle school, I was a poor reader and despised the act of reading. However, Harry Potter changed me and has opened up my eyes to so many beautiful and amazing new worlds.
DOCUMENTARIES: A NON-FICTION BOOK YOU’D RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE
Oh…Marley and Me by John Grogan. I felt it all – joy, sadness, comedic relief, heartbreak, and overall love while I read.
ACTION AND ADVENTURE: AN ACTION-PACKED BOOK
I borrowed this one from my tagger since I had a hard time choosing one that I haven’t mentioned already, lol.
New Releases: A book that just came out or will be coming out soon that you can’t wait to read.
I was given an e-copy from NetGalley of Every Note Played that came out last month. Still Alice was one that touched my heart, so I’m excited to dive into this one!
I tag:
