Happy Friday everyone! Hope everyone is ready for the weekend and has something fun planned! Yes, reading a book you want to read counts! Today, I’m continuing my new blog segment – Weekend Reads.
Weekend Reads is where I will concentrate on just one of the books I’m reading during the weekend rather than trying to balance multiple ones at once. So many times I say, “I’ll read only one chapter of this book and then I go to the next one” or “I want to read halfway through this book before I can read my other one.” My goal is just enjoy what I’m reading and not stress about how much time I’m devoting to every book or how many chapters I’m reading for each book.
Weekend Reads – March 5-7, 2021
For this weekend I’m planning to focus on…
Namesake (Fable #2) by Adrienne Young is an ARC that I received from NetGalley recently and am ready to start reading!
Why this read?
I read and enjoyed the first in this series, Fable. When I saw the second in the series was available and coming out soon, I jumped at the chance to request it from NetGalley. Luckily, I was approved and am now curious to see what is going on with Fable in the second installment.
Though it’s been a little while since I’ve read the first one, I do remember how I thought the setting was creative. Settings like the sea, ships, and harbors are ones I don’t normally read about it or focus on. Since I love being by the water, reading a book that brings me there fills me with joy.
Another reason I have decided to focus on Namesake this weekend is because of its upcoming publication date, March 16, 2021. It only feels right to try to read and review Namesake before it’s actually released since the publisher was kind enough to give me an advanced copy.
Lastly, I just love young adult fantasy, with some adventure. Throw in a strong female lead and characters I liked from its previous book, then I got a must-read for me!
See you soon, Fable!
Happy Weekend Reading!
