Happy Friday (and almost weekend)! Can’t wait to take baby to his first park this Sunday! So curious how he’ll be in a new environment, but for now, I’ll be entering spring with an ARC that I received recently.
Weekend Reads is where I will concentrate on just one of the books I’m reading during the weekend rather than trying to balance multiple ones at once. So many times I say, “I’ll read only one chapter of this book and then I go to the next one” or “I want to read halfway through this book before I can read my other one.” My goal is just enjoy what I’m reading and not stress about how much time I’m devoting to every book or how many chapters I’m reading for each book.
Weekend Reads – March 19-21, 2021
For this weekend I’m planning to focus on…
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas is an ARC that I received from NetGalley and am loving so far!
Why this read?
Sometimes I’m in the mood for a retelling and/or a pretend continuation of an original story that I enjoyed growing up. To be honest, I came to know and enjoy Peter Pan in the 1953 animated Disney film version and never have read the books. I wasn’t a strong reader growing up and my parents weren’t (and still aren’t) readers, so I kind of missed some of the children’s classic books as a child. Disney movies, though, were a staple at my house, so I didn’t miss watching Peter Pan several times! Therefore, when the chance to read and potentially review a book that takes the Peter Pan story a step further, I didn’t waste any time in requesting it from NetGalley!
Another reason I’d like to focus my reading on this book this weekend is because its publication date is fast approaching – March 23, 2021. I’m trying to be better at reviewing ARCs by the time (or slightly before) they are published as this is the reason why authors and publishers want their works out to some of the public before their books are sold. I was able to get the last ARC I received read and reviewed beforehand, so hopefully I can get this one read and reviewed, too.
Can’t wait to read more!
See you soon, Wendy and Peter!
Happy Weekend Reading!
