Weekend Reads – March 26-28, 2021

Wahoo, it’s Friday! This week has been beautiful and the family and I spent a lot of time outside, which was great! As we head into the weekend (and an outdoor visit from Grandma and Great-Grandma approaches), it’s time to think of what book will I be focusing on reading this weekend.

Weekend Reads is where I will concentrate on just one of the books I’m reading during the weekend rather than trying to balance multiple ones at once. So many times I say, “I’ll read only one chapter of this book and then I go to the next one” or “I want to read halfway through this book before I can read my other one.” My goal is just enjoy what I’m reading and not stress about how much time I’m devoting to every book or how many chapters I’m reading for each book.

For this weekend, I’m planning to focus on…

Dust & Lightning by Rebecca Crunden is an e-book that I received from the author recently.

Why this read?

One reason I would like to focus this weekend on Dust & Lightning is because of its genre. It’s actually been a long time since I’ve read a Dystopian book, so it seems like a great time to give this book a whirl! The book also has an air of mystery, which I enjoy too, attached to it as the protagonist searches for answers about his brother.

I’ve only read a small portion of the book so far, but am enjoying it already! I am very curious about Ames, his running away, and his pursuit of answers about his brother. Also, I’m curious to learn how Earth became the way it is and how it is living in several solar systems.

Can’t wait to learn more about Ames!

Happy Weekend Reading!
