Weekend Reads – May 7-9, 2021

It’s Friday again and time to think about which book will hold most of my attention this weekend!

Weekend Reads is where I will concentrate on just one of the books I’m reading during the weekend rather than trying to balance multiple ones at once. So many times I say, “I’ll read only one chapter of this book and then I go to the next one” or “I want to read halfway through this book before I can read my other one.” My goal is just enjoy what I’m reading and not stress about how much time I’m devoting to every book or how many chapters I’m reading for each book.

Weekend Reads – May 7-9, 2021

For this weekend, I’m planning to focus on…

Never Tell Them by N.L. Hinkens – I’m about a third done in less than a day! I can’t put it down!

Why this read?

I recently received an ARC of Never Tell Them from the author, with a publication date of May 11th, 2021. Of course, I would like to read and review this read by that date (or beforehand), so I decided to start reading it yesterday.

Sometimes I forget how much I love N.L. Hinkens’ storytelling until I begin reading one of her works and simply can’t put it down. This happens to be one of those! In this story, the author has me guessing and trying to piece everything together, but I’m not quite there yet. I’m at a point that I have to keep reading in order to figure what is the truth. Who is the mysterious neighbor that moved? What is his deal? Is the boy he’s with really his son? If not, why does he have this four-old-year? So many questions…I’m hoping to find out all of them this weekend!

Also, I love the being inside the protagonist’s, Sonia’s, head for most of the story. She is a likable and easy character to be around with.

Can’t wait to continue!

Happy Weekend Reading!
